CD-COM Systems was originally founded in Indianapolis, IN in 1988 as a developmental platform for new optical technologies. Initial projects were large distribution applications for some major corporations. Additional offices have been opened in Chicago and L.A.

CD-COM began its alliance with Duplex Products in 1994, providing a seamless combination of their respective services to a variety of customers. This successful partnership has continued and expanded since Duplex was purchased by Reynolds & Reynolds in 1996.
