CD-COM Demo

Our software systems have been developed based on an Open System concept for ease of use and compatibility. We believe that a user-friendly environment maximizes productivity, which is critical to a good software business solution. Our FOLDERS program is a Windows-based system developed with the end user in mind and includes a Boolean search method. Our AD HOC program is both a database query tool that allows the end user an easy-to-use means of creating simple or complex queries and a report generator that allows one to format the output in a variety of ways. Both programs are the result of on-the-job experience in imaging technology, COM application development and processing, and consultation work in the industry.
CD-COM solutions are installed using your existing PCs, printers, and networks. Any additional software is included with the delivered solution making them portable. Initially, our software may be operated as a single, stand-alone user system. Customer’s data stored on CD can be accessed through a CD-ROM reader on a single workstation. This individual system can evolve into a number of independent users or can be networked to facilitate the sharing of information between users and departments. The CDs are then located in a CD-Server within a Local Area Network. Any individual attached to the LAN, with an appropriately configured workstation, can use the application to access the data stored on the CDs. The CD Server can be a small unit, which works well for certain applications, or could be a multi-drive unit allowing access to dozens of different applications and CD series contained in hundreds of CDs.
Our software systems offer an organization the opportunity to improve, at a lower price and/or increased efficiency level, the manner in which important information is stored and retrieved. CD-ROM becomes the logical substitute for information that is now being stored on paper, microfiche/microfilm, magnetic tape, or online systems.

    Ease of Use

CD-COM's information management solutions have been developed for ease of use and compatibility, to fit into your current Information Systems architecture as well as evolve and fit into your future design. This translates to open system, non-proprietary answers to the information overload so many companies and organizations are struggling with. In addition, our service bureau approach enables one to begin to gain the advantages of this technology without the usual large capitol outlays associated with imaging systems and still grow into a large capacity, multi-access storage and retrieval system. The following represent just some of the options available:
    Single User
Your environment may be as simple as a single, stand-alone PC user. Or multiple workstations, each with their own CD readers and sharing one or more CDs. These independent users can be networked in the future to facilitate sharing of information in the future.
    Network Connectivity
Rather than requiring CD readers on each workstation, CDs may be accessed from network CD servers and shared by anyone attached to the network. Anyone with an appropriately configured PC and authorization can access and share the information. CDs can still be stored as single units, or accessed in large, multi-drive CD units capable of handling Gigabytes of valuable data.
    Information Media
Information from computer output devices (tape, diskette, etc.) along with source documents and even microfilm images can be captured and stored on a CD. Multiple, user-defined indices allow for rapid access by users in any of the above mentioned environments.
    Integrated Media
This system allows for an organization to finally access all of its valuable information resources, regardless of its original storage media, through a single, simple system. This lowers the cost of storage and improves productivity of all personnel who use this information as part of their work process.
